SIZE GUIDE
step 1.1
ALREADY WEARING GLASSES?
That’s great! Then you should already have your size. Most eyewear brands write their size on the inside of the temple. Please use this size as a reference when you browse through our frames.
step 1.2
HOW TO FIND YOUR SIZE
To find your size we advise you to find your total width across the face. We have made a measurement tool for you that is easy to print out and cut yourself.
Print the measurement tool.
CUT
Cut out the small square.
measure
Place the measurement tool on your face. Time the result with 2 - example 66x2 = 132cm total width
step 2
EYEWEAR DIMENSIONS
In eyewear you will meet different eyewear dimensions which help define the size of the frame.
Below you can read about the dimensions that are important for you to know about.
LENS
This is the horizontal width of each lens at its widest point. It typically ranges from 40mm to 60mm.
BRIDGE
This is the distance between your two lenses. In short, the bridge width is the space where your frames fit against your nose. The size of this piece ranges from 14mm to 24mm.
TEMPLE
This is the length of the temple from each screw to its temple tip, including the bend that sits on your ear. The temple is typically 120mm to 150mm long.
TOTAL WIDTH
This is the distance between the two temples. You can use the total width to get an idea about how the frame will look on your face. If it is too narrow or too wide. For our size guide we will guide you based on the total width.
step 3
OUR SIZE INDEX
The purpose of finding your size is to make sure that your pupils are placed in the center of the frame. If they are, you know you have the right size. We believe that the TOTAL WIDTH gives us a good indication of how a frame will fit our face.
We have divided our size index into COMPACT, GENERAL, SUN, and OPTICAL, .
This is because sizes will vary depending on the type of frame.
COMPACT:
Rounded shapes and shapes with a thicker frame will be in the COMPACT category. In the COMPACT catgeory a small size will always appear bigger than it would in the GENERAL category of frames. You will find our ROUND and WELLINGTON frames in this category.
Example: a size 52 (lens) will be a narrow-medium frame in the GENERAL category. But a size 52 (lens) will be a big medium in the COMPACT category.
GENERAL:
SQUARE, BOXY, AVIATOR, and FOX shapes belong in the GENERAL category. Here the sizes are more standardized.
SUN
OPTICAL
step 4
FINDING A FRAME FOR YOUR FACE TYPE
Eyewear is really up to the individual – what YOU think suits you. However, we have here a couple of general guidelines for picking frames depending on your face type.
ROUND FACE
There are many glasses shapes that suit round faces. Angular, and square frames work especially well! Avoid small and round frames so your features don’t become lost. And by choosing a pair of frames that are more angular and wide, you can add the illusion of length to your face.
OVAL FACE
A face with an oval shape features higher and slightly wider cheekbones that is slightly narrower towards the forehead. This long, rounded face shape allows you to pull off almost any style — especially oversized and wide frames. We advise you to steer clear of narrow frames and frames with heavy design elements.
HEART FACE
Heart-shaped faces are widest at the forehead with a narrow chin and high cheekbones. You should look to round or oval-shaped eyeglass frames that are thin and lightly colored. Avoid bottom-heavy frames, oversized frames, and frames with a lot of design elements. The goal is to draw attention to the top of the face and add balance to the width of your face.
Square FACE
Square faces are widest along the jaw and forehead. Go for frames that sit high on the nose. This will add length which flatters this face. A round frame will soften as well as add contrast to your angular features, making your face stand out.
